Rule #1 Never disobey master’s commands.
Rule #2 Always strive to please your master.
Rule #3 Don’t ever kill your master.
Breaking the rules is the ultimate sin.
All I am is a servant. Rules like these keep me alive. They’re all I’ve ever known.
Until him.
My new master Marcus Knight, the charismatic and ambitious leader of an underground empire.
A man with a history he vows to destroy.
With his newfound ownership over me, he seeks to atone for his crimes … and to satisfy his wicked needs.
With love, he shows me what it means to belong to him … and it makes me question everything.
I don’t know why he chose me, but it feels too good to be true.
And it is.
Because I’m going to break all the rules.

I was at fist very into the plot. It had just the right amount of dark and yet the caring the Master had for his "servant" and how he tried to give her the world a little bit at a time and show her what she had been taught was all wrong. But I had a surprising twist that made me dislike this book and made it so much darker than I would normally read. The entire story ended in an entire manipulation and had a lot of sadness and darkness. Some of it I just couldn't get past and I really didn't like the ending. For those that don't mind really really dark stories, then give this a try.
The darkest stories I go are Wanderlust by Skye Warren or His by Jenika Snow or Beautiful Prison by Jenika Snow.

One of my issues....The heroine was raped at 7 years old after witnessing her mother and father murdered in front of her. Then, her Master kills the man who raped her. Yet, at the end, he was actually there. In her memories, there was a bald man (her Master) who said he wasn't into kids yet he let the other man take her when her Master KNEW she was going to be raped and made a slave and yet now he gets all ampped up and wants to slowly torture to death the man that raped her? He wasn't the only man to rape her and her Master LET it happen. He could have stopped it but he didn't.
Second, the heroine still loves her Master even when she finds out he caused all her rapes and tortures. He had the power to stop it before it even happened and yet he didn't. Sure, he saved her NOW but that is decades after torture and brainwashing and being scarred. Not only did he do it to her but other children as well because he was called a "Snatcher". It made it extremely difficult to emphasize with him as he was dying and even though he found another slave to save to make them fall in love with each other....to me, the Master was STILL taking away the heroines choice. He bought a male slave whom he was "saving" and showing him the world like he did with the heroine, yet, he was the cause of their enslavement AND he basically put them together so of course they would grow close - they were the only three people in the estate! The heroine and hero weren't given an option if they wanted someone else, they were basically thrown together so how could they not fall in "love" with each other?

This was a Fu€king good read. I won't go into the plot as others have already done so. Markus, Ava and Daniel make up the cast of this Dark and Gritty story. Full of twists and turns it is s true roller coaster ride beginning till the end. I'd like to see a part two judging from the last line in the book but it could be left to the reader imagination . FIVE sinful stars on this one! ~ JULE K. ~
Could not put this book down...Absolutely amazing... One of the best storylines I've read in a while... All the characters play an interesting part of the story... Sizzling heat...you never can guess what's going to happen next...
Pick a copy up today and get ready to read the book I. One sitting ❤️
This was my first dark romance EVER and I had no idea about the genre....Needless to say, I loved it. But Clarissa's work, in particular this book, is outstanding. I hang on to the edge of my seat and am left with a quite an emotional hangover, the kind you expect from such a visceral work, Go into this blind like I did and enjoy all the delicious depravity only to be blown away by its completely heart-wrenching ending.
This book was simply amazing! I can not speak enough about how the 3 major characters. The all were fighting internal battles and had so much depth it broke my heart. Imagine a world of being beaten and tortured for the pleasures of others. Could you become that subservient? Would you be able to survive? Once you got out of the brutality how would you be able to go on? Even when the main female character Ava changed Masters her past has followed her. She is unsure of her place and the new expectations. She has many new things to comprehend. Can life actually change or will she always be the brutal tortured person she was brought up to be?
This was the best book i have read since indebted. It was dark sexy thrilling and a rollercoaster ride of awesome. I laughed i cried and of course was sexually stimulated beyond repair. My hubby is definitely thanking clarissa for this one. I was so intrigued i couldnt put it down. THIS BOOK IS "THE BOOK TO READ IN 2016".
Towards the end, the story seems to moth into a never ending story. It’s like the author had what the author thought were clever lines the author was determined to use. It would have been a better story if it ended with 5 less chapters. This the sole reason for my low rating. The story itself is very dark. It deals with the enslavement of children raised to serve their master while being stripped of their rights, some even kept in cages, fed scarps, beaten, and raped by deranged adults. A hell on earth for the servants who are conditioned to suppress their thoughts and feelings in favor of their master’s desires to avoid being punished in abhorrent manners. The world of two servants are flipped by their new master, Satan’s son who seeks redemption for his sins.
P. S. I would have preferred the fathers were switched.
***Probably Spoilers here***
OMG! I started at the beginning with the whole cringe factor going on, but couldn't stop reading then got the middle only to be rooting for a HEA ending for Marcus and Ava. I figured he was sick and how he had bargained to buy Daniel I was beyond PISSED! But I figured it was because he wanted someone strong to take care of Ava when he died and not anybody would do it had to be Daniel confused me.Then the twists started to unravel. The ending had me crying and wondering how Daniel and Ava would ever survive with all the scars they carried, but in the end Marcus again protected the both of them redeeming himself in my eyes making it possible for them to be free, otherwise they would go back In the system to abused some more and in the end he gave them enough info to bring the whole organization down.I think I suffered every emotion at some point while reading this book. This was my first book by the author and can't wait to read more!
