I enjoyed the fact that this wasn’t yet another cowboy story where the guy saves the day, gets the girl, and they ride into the sunset together. The main character of this particular story is a very troubled young man who seems to have forces working against him at every turn. The harder he works, the more things seem to blow up in his face.I enjoyed the fact that the author gave Billy Ray a nice list of flaws and also made him have to deal with the consequences of his actions.
Although there are some pacing issues, the story stars out a bit slow and then has all kinds of stuff crammed into the last third, over all, I found this to be a very enjoyable story and spent a very pleasant afternoon reading it.
I hope Ms. Graham has plans to write a story that features Billy Ray’s brother as the main character.

Rank The hottest electrifying new adult western romance of the year! edition by D R Graham Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This is my third D. R Graham book and by far my favourite. In fact Rank has made its way onto my favourite books list. I really liked the two YA books I've read by D. R Graham and needed something while I wait for the third book in the Britannia Beach series. This was exactly what I needed and I didn't even know I was looking for.
As soon as I started reading Rank I knew I was reading something I was really going to love. It just felt like more. More angst. More drama. More feelings. I wasn't wrong. I experienced so many emotions reading this book and that's not to mention what the characters went through. I was completely immersed in and swept along with this story. The characters were so raw and real and the descriptions and dialogue so vivid that I truly felt like I was watching a film not only reading book. Hell I felt like I was right there. I could almost call up the sounds and smells.
Honestly the more I think about this book the more I love it. I'm finding it difficult to articulate my thoughts and feelings about it. This is one of those books I want to tell everyone to read. I found myself thinking about this book in between the opportunities I had to read. I was desperate to get back to the characters. There's a couple of tropes I dislike in my books. Rank touched upon one and for a while it sent me running but when I told my best friend about my issues with it she said "books are supposed to make you feel... it's working." So wise my best one! I was so far into the book by this point and so attached to the characters and concerned for their wellbeing that I knew I wouldn't be able to stay away for long.
Books from the male POV are my favourite so the fact this book is entirely from Billy's had me absolutely enamoured from page one. This is a new adult romance at its core and stunning one at that but Billy's relationship with his brother, his mom and the supporting characters really made this book the fully rounded experience that means Rank is a book I will think about for a long time to come. On the flip side of touching on tropes I dislike, Rank is basically in its entirety one of my favourite tropes! I loved this book and the characters D. R Graham creates so much that I can't wait to see what she writes next and also work my way through her previously published books while I wait.
Rank is a standalone book and has a fantastically satisfying ending but I would absolutely read more books about these characters and I love standalone books above anything else. I am gutted to be leaving these characters behind!
First off I read the reviews and let's just say they are not 5 star worthy or has any hotness in this book..I hate when I am mislead by reviews that were probably written by the author's friends since none were verified purchased! I absolutely love a hot cowboy read. It doesn't have to be always detailed but when a reviewer states a level 3 in sensuality and it's BS, That makes me mad..Fact there was one love scene, a quick one in a truck with zero detail, one of the most passionless romance scene in a books history. The main characters never even had a love scene besides a few kisses, hardly what I would call a romance book..this book followed 2 brother's through the rodeo and life...one is afraid to get back on a bull after his dad was killed by one and the other is a reckless older brother who has a mental problem..so his younger brother follows him around the circuit to watch his brother..this story was a little far fetched. They were always talking about getting laid but the author never followed through with the love scene's..I wanted the story to feel like I was there, to get lost in the story ....but it was lacking. the older brother gets way over his head in debt..always gambling something..some men were pretty much threatening the lives of him and his family if the money wasn't paid.. The only thing in this book that I found true to a rodeo book was the swearing..if you are looking for a book that is about life of a rodeo guys with hit man and a bipolar brother who is followed around by his younger brother so he can take his med ' s and is always cleaning up his brother's mess .this book had zero passion or romance, you will love this book! I gave this more like a 1.5
This was a gripping read with characters so real and so flawed that I couldn't help but identify with them and feel for them. An intensely emotional read, 'Rank' tackles some important issues while still delivering a great story and a feel-good ending. It feels fresh and original and I loved that the story is told entirely from the hero's point of view. This book also opened a window onto a whole new world for me as I've never read a book set in the rodeo world before - it certainly won't be my last! And DR Graham is now definitely on my auto buy list.
