I HATE Devin to no end. I love Anna, Alex and their friends (so many loyal friends who risked everything for Anna). Please be warned of possible spoilers ahead. This is probably the DARKEST series that I have read so far, and I have read several. The story is very well written; Ms. Honeycutt did a great job at taking the reader slowly down into the despair of Anna's life. I got the whole series, so I read it from beginning to end non stop. The story was heart breaking, but so full of hope at the same time. Anna was so sweet and strong, but in one way or another everyone let her down (yes, even Alex on Chapter 50 of the last book in my opinion ... how could he treat her like that after all she had been through!). The one thing that upset me during all the books was that nobody taught Anna how to use her powers (not even in the last book after Sebastian realized how powerful she really was). During all those years, no one thought about given her some advise on how to use her gifts to protect herself. She did get her HEA in the last book, but I would love to see more of Anna's future. I want to see her strong, confident, and working along side Alex as an equal partner. Maybe Ms. Honeycutt would like to consider writing about what will happen when "all" the children are older and Alex finally becomes an Elder. I would definitely be interested on getting that book.

I purchased the “bundle” and spent several days reading the books. At first I was wondering why if the warning about the content was sadly misleading. However, after getting further into the book it becomes worthy of the warning. Devin, Anna, and Alex are a twisted combination of evil, innocence, and good. Anna’s life is an ongoing nightmare and struggle with Devin. Alex is often disturbing mix of goodness and weakness. I have mixed feelings about Anna. She “fell in love” too frequently and easily throughout the story.

I would say the story was an interesting mix of paranormal beings and humans. The powers of the Immortals, Elder-Mistresses was not explained well enough for me. Bits and pieces were given throughout the story. The culture of the Elders and their Brotherhood was also dispersed in pieces. I would have liked a more complete explanation in a more timely manner.

If you want torture, BDSM, sex and more sex then this book will fulfill that requirement. Heed the “content warning.”
I have to say that I read part 1 of this series a while ago and it keep popping up in my mind that I had to get the rest of the series. Unfortunately, some retailers have started to remove the books so if you are interested in reading this Dark, Twisted, Depraved story you better grab it while you can. You have to take this author's warning seriously! I am a huge dark fan and this will push every limit you have.

ENSLAVED – book 1
Anna’s parents were killed when she was a young girl and her guardian Jack took her in and he and Devin began to condition her for a life as a sex slave. She is now a fearful shell of a person. Her only desire is to please her masters in an attempt to avoid, or minimize, the sadistic punishments that are frequently inflicted upon her. She was in effect brainwashed by the two men. This is a complex beginning to the series with paranormal elements and a complete powerful secret society ruled by powerful men. Three of these men are Wilhelm and his sons, Alex and Kurt who see Anna as something special but she is under Devin’s control. There are many secrets and confusing elements in the first book but the last ritual scene was powerful and keep me interested in reading more.

ENTWINED – Book 2
This book is complex. A part of you is morbidly fascinated by the events and another part is horrified that someone could abuse a young girl in that manner. I am hoping that Alex is able to protect Anna before it’s too late, but since there are 3 more books in the journey it is unlikely. It seems like every guy she comes in contact with treats her badly.

EMBRACED - Book 3
This book is a bit lighter if that is possible. Devin is becoming more powerful, but Alex is trying hard to be able to save Anna. We are able to understand the Brotherhood and Anna’s background now. There seem to be many men that Anna falls for, but in the end her ‘training’ is strong and she still views herself as a slave.

ENSNARED – Book 4
We pick up two years after book 3 ended, Anna exists in a drug-induced haze now that Alex has disappeared. Devin controls the drugs which he uses to control Anna. When Devin needs her back he weans her from the drugs and uses other severe methods to keep her in line. She is able to begin dancing again and finds some happiness, but things are not better for her yet.

EMERGED - Book 5
If you're made it this far you will be thrilled to finally get an HEA! Finally, things take a turn and the good guys are able to take out the evil. It was a perfect ending to a twisted series. Don’t get me wrong it wasn’t easy and straight forward and at times I wasn’t sure it was going to happen, but it was amazing. I would have liked to see Devin suffer more, but after the years of abuse he lead nothing could have evened the scales so at least he finally is gone.

This is one of my all time favorite dark series and I hope the author continues to write in this genre!

I had three friends tell that I had to read this series and I was told 3 things...
1) It has every trigger you can imagine if you can not handle DARK, you should not read it.
2) It is tragic most of the time and you will be disgusted.
3)It has a happy ending that you will love and enjoy.

So,with all the trust in the world that my friends would not steer me wrong, I dove in.
First, I am so glad that I did not have to wait for the next book, I would have died.
Second, there are so many moments that I wanted to cry, throw my kindle, and kept thinking,"I can not read anymore!" but kept reading.
Third, there were some really amazing tender moments that let me breathe.
and Fourth, the ending is perfect.

I do not want to give anything away and if you need some support while reading it... Facebook has support groups. Not kidding...

Seriously, this series is amazingly dark and unbelievable painful to read but in the end the Happy Ever After has never been more appreciated or deserved by any one character.

If you can handle the warning that this book has straight up abuse on top of abuse, this book is amazing. Marissa Honeycutt weaves a tale that can not be forgotten and it has nothing to do with the darkness. The unforgettable is all about the light of Anna that glows in the darkness that I thought would never end.

Was one of my top picks of 2015.
